This is our first year at St Joseph. Catholic School in Baytown and we are very pleased with the staff, education and religious teachings. I love that every Friday the students attend Mass and parents are encouraged to attend as well. I've attended a few masses and I am pleased that Father Edmond asks the children to participate when asked questions about the teachings. The students learn the importance of mass itself, to include but not limited to , behavior in mass, participation by being part of the congregation, participating in choir, readers, bringing up the gifts, and/or alter servers. All these areas teach the children values, morality, and respect.

Secondly, I like the Student / teacher ratio. The smaller class environment allows the children to learn and get the 1-on-1 attention or help, if needed.

Thirdly, is the after school program from 3-5:30 PM.
This after school care is not only beneficial for parents who work, but also inexpensive and the after-school teachers are there to help with homework!

Then there is Prayer Circle every morning. Prior to beginning class,. students, parents and teachers gather around to pray, pledge to the flags, recognize birthdays and acknowledge achievements. This is a great way to start the morning!

Another great thing about the school is that religious classes are taught everyday which gives students the chance to obtain knowledge about the Bible and the Love that God has for us.

Music class, taught once a week gives students the opportunity to expand their cognitive level by memorizing songs and hymns. Students also have the option to join the choir, whom sing at Friday Mass.

I can't forget about all the fun events outside of school hours throughout the year. Parents and students are encouraged to participate and/or volunteer at fall festival, Christmas play, Christmas parade, Steps-4-Students, church bazaar, and many more events. By participating, students have opportunity to enjoy themselves outside of class and raise funds for the school at the same time.

Overall, St Joseph has been a wonderful experience for my girls (Pk3 & 5th grade). We would highly recommend St Joseph to all our friends and family.
