I grew up Camp Fire Tesuya Council as a girl. This organization was a very large part of my life. I learned so many useful things that have carried over into my adult life. I guess you might say that Tesuya Council in Cleburne, Tx. helped me to become the person I am today and for that I am grateful.
I also had the pleasure of coming back as an adult and volunteer to be a Co-Leader for my own daughter’s Camp Fire Group. Being able to watch her learn and grow through the same Camp Fire Programs and the excitement of attending Camp was very rewarding. My daughter graduated in 2011 out of Camp Fire, it was sad. But luckily in the Fall of 2011, the office secretary contacted me and explained that there was a group of Kindergarten girls and none of the mothers would step up and take these 5 little ladies. So, yes I again stepped forward and became yet a Camp Fire Leader for another group of children. I just could not walk away. The Camp Fire Organization,
(Tesuya Council especially) has been an amazing part of my now 50 years!!! I have seen first hand how this youth organization cares for, relates to, educates and prepares it’s youth dealing with the world, or at least that is what Camp Fire did for me way back I’m the 1970’s. But for the youth now, we believe kids and teens are leaders. They don’t need to wait for the future to shape the world.
We help youth be the best 7-year-old they can be, or the best 17-year-old. We guide kids and teens of all ages to boost their confidence and unlock their potential so they can thrive—where they are now!!! And who doesn’t want our children to thrive and find their spark?? Young people want to shape the world.
Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
In Camp Fire, it begins now. So, I plan to always be here to help them to light their Fire within!!!
