Run by a board of nine elected members this organization represents the neighborhood of 200 families at City Council and Planning Board meetings. It has been effective in pressing developers to modify project to be more in keeping with neighborhood aesthetic character.
It organizes two social events annually, a dutch treat dinner at a local hotel at Christmas and in midsummer an ice-cream social in one of the neighborhood courts (cul-de-sac). The former is mainly for adults, the latter is attended mainly by families with young children.

The association has generated a certain civic pride among neighborhood members. The neighborhood is marked by a level of courtesy and respect for privacy that is rare among suburban communities. The children and especially the teenagers are civil and well mannered and most respectful to elderly residents. Neighbors are always ready to help in an emergency, yet otherwise are never nosy or intrusive.
It is just a great place to live.

The GMAC board circulates a newsletter free to all members.
Otherwise it is unobtrusive and quietly effective.
