The activites of the CCSL and its purpose:
The Congolese community of St. Louis was created in order for its members to get to know one another and to help each other to deal with the problems within the community. It is intended for the opening and cooperation with all other similar organizations and governmental institutions.
All the activities and the purpose are shown in the CCSL brochure I am sending you.
The organization was created for the purpose of helping all the new comers, refugees, or immigrants from our country of Congo (DRC) and also other countries in Africa to the USA.
As a young non-profit organization, for the last eight years we have carried around with us the mode of volunteerism to help our people along with the help of college and university students so that our people can become good citizens of this country.
As a non-profit and charitable organization we have done our best to run with small contributions from our members and some small donations from other organizations so that we can continue helping one another in any difficulties they encounter as new arrivals.
Finally, the CCSL has become very important to our community because of the we do for everybody, young and old men and women regardless of their color or country of origin. We have tried to apply for grants with other organizations but never receive assistance. However, we continue to help people with the small funds we receive from monthly contributions from our members.
I thank you in advance for your understanding for our work we do in the community.
Yours Sincerely,
Vincent K. Mukaza
President of CCSL
