she takes the hard earned money of others and spends it on herself and pays her own vet bill do not help her at all

Our veterinary bills, food bills, transportation bills are outrageous and all the money from fundraisers and donations goes towards the animals. Since Dorothy runs the sanctuary she has ongoing medical bills for these elderly and sick and injured animals that no one else will keep for their remaining years. Most of her own personal income is also spent on these animals and she does it happily. People who don't do rescue such as the OP had no clue what it takes.
