My journey began during the first week of May 2015 as I struggled to get my life back on track while healing from domestic violence and going through a divorce from the comfort of a homeless shelter in Douglasville, without use of a car or transportation assistance.
I was given an appointment for an eye exam, selected frames, and made payment - yes PAYMENT - this was not a "free" service nor a free visit. I was told to wait for receipt of glasses which could take up to 6 weeks. As we approach October that lie almost makes me laugh.
After nearly three (3) months had expired with no glasses, I contacted Lions by telephone and was informed the glasses were mailed - returned, and then resent and returned a 2nd time. There had been zero contact/notification from Lions. They had my phone, email, and a physical address. I called them, that is the only reason I was informed delivery had been attempted -- failed, and according to Tiffany Ellerbee would not be attempted again. MORGAN ALEXANDER confirmed, although her version stated I verified my address after the 1st failed attempt at delivery.
I was told to report to CHAMBLEE in order to select new frames, be fitted -- in essence repeat the process save the eye exam. I demanded a refund. MS. MORGAN ALEXANDER assured me the process would be worth the trip to Chamblee and that she would make concessions, including adjusting the day/time for my eyeglass fitting - Monday was available to me. All went well.
By the time the eyeglasses were reported ready for pick-up my work schedule had changed. I now work Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. My emails and phone messages requesting pick up by a designated representative went unanswered. My emails requesting Saturday pickup went unanswered. My request for FedEx pick up and delivery went unanswered.
Only when I offered to notify police of the theft (howbeit ransom) of my glasses did the women of Georgia Lions Lighthouse care to respond. Their response "come pick up your glasses". I repeated my plea, "I have to earn a living." I have no PTO nor paid vacation. No car to pull up in front of the GA Lions offices. I offered to send a pre-paid, self addressed envelope WITH MY NEW ADDRESS in order to receive the eyeglasses [at long last]. Ms. Alexander's personal response AND i QUOTE HER DIRECTLY FROM HER EMAIL: "Again, your glasses can be picked up at our office at your convenience. We will no longer spend time on the subject." From May to October and this is what I have to show, no eyeglasses, only those words.
I've spent hours in commute, hours in optical offices, time I could have been working -- all in anticipation of eyeglasses.

I am employed by a TEMPORARY agency. How much time should I take off in order to obtain one (1) pair of eyeglasses? As far as I'm concerned that time has expired.
