The program coordinator for the THP+FC, Matt Feske discriminates / verbally assaults residents constantly and has the job of covering up things and putting kids out on the streets specifically the ones he doesn't like.. He threatened me saying I would not complain on this program or I would be on the homeless or in jail, guess what happened...
S.T.A.R.'s properties are not maintained for any length of time to the point that nothing works but the old plumbing and bad electrical.
Staffing is horrible, The counselors are lazy and self-absorbed in some kind of power trip. They mostly house minors because
1) The state funds them more and
2) because they are easier to keep unaware.
The program is set up to make money first, and keep licensing out of the picture. Before Community Care Licensing shows up is the only time I have ever seen anything be repaired. The counselors do not use any form of positive encouragement and instead treat "residents" which is what they have to call us... like immature children that have no place in society they are often ignored, joked about, humiliated and instigated towards bad behavior. Staff are always highly unprofessional and feel like they are even above their own program's rules. also they are encouraged to write incident reports all day instead of counseling, which is their job. Instead they just document everything (Sometimes Falsely) so no legal issues arise. Also almost every resident is on drugs and that seems to be what the program wants, residents who sit around all day doing nothing so they don't have to help them or waste money. I spent more than a year in this program's group home and THP+FC and I can't tell which is worse. Nothing I ever said living in this program was ever taken seriously, The fact that are so good at maintaining a false image and lying is astonishing. I was the only one to ever use my voice to speak out and because of that they cut me loose and gave me zero chances, damaged my pride on a daily basis. They lied about my case managements and gave me a eviction notice on valentines day, that shows how great they are.
I'm so glad I left this cockroach nest and can now move forward in life without constraint. If you are part of this program, don't let anything slide get out now!.. you'll be way happier for it.
